Heading to the Saints game today, but bet these gems in the hopes of making back what Brady is going to cost me this afternoon.
R1 - #3 Skellig (7-2) Was bet down to chalk in Saratoga debut at 6f. Looks like he was wide early and never switched leads in the stretch. Comes down to the city, cranks out a bullet, and stretches out to the mile. Strong field in the opener.
R2 - #2 Infringement (15-1) It's been a long time since this gal finished anywhere near the lead, but she takes a big drop and returns to a dirt sprint at Aqueduct - scene of her last non-embarrassing finish. I think she can get up for a late 2nd and pay more to place than the winner pays to win.
R3 - #3 Sareeha (6-1) Chad has a couple of killers lined up in this one, but I'm going to fade him and try the 2nd time Lasix angle for the European transplant. Pretty damn well-bred and gets a major jockey upgrade.
R4 - #1 Maxim Moment (3-1) Well-travelled guy has burned some moolah since finally breaking his maiden at Santa Anita. Will likely be a short price today, but seems to be a perfect fit at this level.
R5 - #2 Treasured Gem (10-1) I like the turf to dirt move here for Clement, but seriously, I'm just looking for lightning in a bottle as I expect #8 to blow the field away.
R6 - #6 Going In Style (5-1) I've espoused Camejo as an underrated trainer a number of times. If he has a weakness, though, it's with babies. This is a fairly weak field for a MSW race, however, and Prat sees fit to ride - so I'll throw a dart.
R7 - #8 Angelinka (7-2) Mertkan scores at above 20% off the claim and even higher when dropping in class. Teams up with the sizzling Franco today. Logical at 4-1.
R8 - #3 Blitz To Win (10-1) Had a couple of nice tries on the Belmont mile track before faltering in Saratoga. I think he's a city boy and is live for a big run today.
R9 - #4 Faith in Humanity (5-1) Had the lead and got caught at 20-1 in first try against winners. Brown brings her right back in a Grade III and keeps Franco aboard. Won't get 20-1, but should get a thrill.
R10 - #6 The Last Zip (9-2) I always look twice when a lousy trainer lures a top jockey. Since nothing else really jumps out at me here, I'll follow Prat.
